Arresting Headline
I’m just a plainspoken Colorado criminal defense lawyer, but the way I see it…
In my hometown (Boulder, Colorado), the local newspaper’s lead story yesterday was headlined, “City Won’t arrest Girl Scouts.” Although on the face of it alarming, both to Girl Scouts and their potential victims, it turns out that they just won’t be arrested for selling cookies door-to-door, or if they dare put up a table at the local supermarket. Tell you the truth, I never thought our cops mean enough to do that in the first place. As the county sheriff said, these guys and gals need their thin mints, too.
But rest assured, citizenry of Boulder, if they dare snatch a few purses whilst helping old ladies across the street, the nasty little Girl Scouts will be arrested, just like anyone else.
