The Criminals Who Lead Us
I’m just a plainspoken Colorado criminal defense lawyer, but the way I see it…
The United States of America was led by a criminal for four disgraceful years.
The Congress of the United States remains peppered with criminals, remains a disgrace. These criminals are accessories after the fact (and perhaps before) to seditious conspiracy as defined by 18 U.S. Code § 2384:
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.
Mitch McConnell has never put his life on the line, for anyone.
Kevin McCarthy has never put his life on the line, for anyone. Neither have Ted Cruz, nor Josh Hawley, nor Paul Gosar, nor Mo Brooks, nor Andy Biggs.
Jim Jordan not only has never put his life on the line, for anyone, but was unable to put even a job on the line to prevent the sexual abuse of his own students.
These men, and many more men and women of the U.S. Congress, have chosen, and continue with regularity to choose, to put mere jobs over the Constitution they have sworn to support and defend.
They don’t want the American people to hear any more about the seditious 6 January attack (that a number of them helped to incite) that tried by force to prevent a peaceful transfer of Presidential power.
So now they’ve done everything they can, short of renewed force, to stop the Congressional investigation that began today into that terrorist insurrection.
We need to look forward, not backward, they said with their votes to prevent this inquiry. We need to put this behind us.
Of course they want to put it behind them. All criminals want to put their crimes behind them.
They didn’t want us to hear from the people — the D.C. Metropolitan and Capitol police — who actually did put their lives on the line for these ungrateful cowards.
We did hear from them, and will hear from more.
And if there is still such a thing as justice in America, we won’t have to hear any more from the miserable crooks who tried to stop them, after the next rounds of elections.
Because it’s time to send these criminals, if not to jail, home.
