Lawyers have always had a bit of a reputation for blowing smoke in courtrooms across these United States.

Lawyers in the state of Washington are taking that practice seriously. Following the lead of my home state, it will soon be legal for them — for anyone — to smoke a little bit of marijuana before heading out to court. But because it’s still against federal law to consort with the magic dragon while practicing law — while practicing anything — state bar associations are asking their Supreme Courts for the okay to take a puff or two every now and then.

Still haven’t heard from their clients how they feel about that.
